Anitbiotic chemotherapy kills the Spirochete bacteria, but does nothing to remove the toxins created by the bacteria which remain in the system for a very long time. In some cases, because antibiotics are non-specific and kill the good bacteria and other flora right along with the bad, they can actually become the reason that people suffer from \"chronic\" Lyme\'s Disease. Think about it. For Lyme\'s Disease to be chronic, you would have to be bitten repeatedly, on a continuous basis, by the hardbodied ticks that carry the Spirochetes responsible for Lymes.
Lyme\'s Disease is not caused by the Spirochete (few bacterial diseases really are caused by the actual offending bacteria), but rather by the waste toxins created by the Spirochetes. The immune system is very effective at getting rid of the actual organism and Immune Modulation with Beta Glucans of the 1:3 1:6 faction have been the most effective in my experience. NAN Defense contains a therapeutic dose of such beta glucanoids.
Removing the endotoxins is another matter entirely. Because some of these (such as benzine and cyanide-like compounds) are difficult for the body to remove, they become sequestered in the fats and tissues. Sulfur compounds cleave to such toxins and the resulting complexes are easier for the body to remove by normal means. This is why it is important to remember that Antibiotic Chemotherapy may not be the best treatment for Lymes! Our normal body flora, which produce a great deal of sulfur in their normal metabolic activities, is killed by Antibiotics.
Foods high in sulfur are Garlic, Onions, Cilantro, Algae, Kelp.
