Resolved Question
Liver FailureWhat oils would you recommend for someone dealing with pain and insomnia from liver failure?
Best Answer -
First of all unless you are eating a diet free of dairy, meat, sugar, sodas, and white flour your liver will have a hard time keeping up with the demands put on it. The liver is probably one of our most forgiving organs and it endures a lot before it even lets you know. Whenever there is pain it is a warning sign something isn\'t right in your body. Its like the red light on you dash board coming on in your car.
The liver gets its nourishment from natural foods that contain enzymes. That is why fresh raw vegetable or fruit juices are so beneficial for the liver. When foods that are full of chemicals such as meat are eaten the liver is given a heavy work load and especially if it is eaten later than about 6:00 pm. If the liver is given proper food and the emotions of anger and non-forgiveness are released it can heal.
Some of the oils that are beneficial for the liver are Black Cumin, Carrot Seed, Roman Chamomile, Cypress, Elemi, Eucalyptus citriodora, Fennel Seed, Fir Needles, Frankincense, Geranium, Ginger Root, Grapefruit, Juniper Berry, Lemon, Lemongrass, Lime, Mandarin, Marjoram, Melaleuca, Myrtle, Nutmeg, Orange, Oregano, Palmarosa, Peppermint, Pine Needles, Rose, Rosemary, Rosewood, Spruce, Tangerine, and Valerian Root.
If you can remember to eat light meals, drink plenty of water (1 ounce for every 2 pounds of your weight) to assist the liver in flushing the toxins, and get your rest so the liver can heal. The oil of Tranquility and Lavender are excellent for insomnia.
Other Answers:
Yes, there are essential oils that can support you with the effects of liver failure. However, this is not a light topic that a quick message can completely address your concern.
I\'d first recommend for you to seek the help of a qualified aromatherapist and/or Holistic Health Professional. These professional will not only support your Liver in its current state - but also support your entire digestive system and whole body for future health and vitality.
I favor Professional Energy Kinesiologists, Acupuncturists, Naturopaths, Herbologists & Classically trained Homeopaths. Not to say that you\'ll need to make a visit to all of the professions listed above – just find one in your area who you resonate with and go from there.
To help relieve Insomnia (as well as an amazing immune booster) I have had excellent experience with the essential oil Cistus. This has the best efficacy (for insomnia) when taken orally 1-3 drops inside a vegetable capsule about ½ hour before bedtime.
For the pain associated with liver failure – the oils recommendation quite depends upon the reason behind the failure. Here are some standard recommendations – but you may need something different.
For detoxification consider: Ledum, Lemon, Celery Seed, Helichrysm, Mandarin, Cardamom, Geranium, Carrot Seed, German Chamomile, and Roman Chamomile.
For hepatitis concerns consider: Ledum, celery seed, ravensara, German Chamomile, thyme, and/or Clove.
I favor the Rocky Mountain (RMO) Essential oils for the high quality and therapeutic grade. But all of these oils can be purchased from several different essential oil companies. I strongly encourage the use of only Organic and Therapeutic Grade oils for this concern though.
Now you don\'t have to pick up every single bottle of essential oil just start with a couple (or more) and see how it feels and then combine with others if you feel so inclined. The oils can be used internally but with caution, essential oils are very potent! Please treat them with respect and seek advice as appropriate.
May grace support you on your path.
